hair. What a cutie. I am jealous, we still can't go to
the beach. I think Hannah would sell Andrew if she thought
it would get us there. We used to go every year and now
haven't for 3 years. Boy once you guys got started in the
right direction, you really got going!! Sophie looks great
and no restrictions. I can't wait until we can all go to
church again and not feel guilty. Keep the good news
 coming. Love, Anne

Sorry to hear the news about Sophie's eye-sight. Remember
that every strength can become a weakness if taken to
extreme. But also, every weakness can become a strength if
it is loved and supported. I know that, with God's help,
you will give Sophie all the love and support you can, so
that in the years to come she will be able to make
strengths out of her weaknesses. I pray that you will
always have the strength to support Sophie and Amy in all
they do. But also that, when you run out of strength, help
will always turn up when you least expect it.

Please do not be discouraged. My dad suffered from West
Nile disease last year at the age of 78. This virus causes
encephalitis which of course causes brain damage and even
death. Drs were very discouraging, but nothing was going
to break my mother or my determination. Well, I am please
to say that this now 79 year old can once again walk, talk
clearly, tell time, read the newspaper and do math. It has
taken a while, but it can happen. Leave it in God's hands

last few days! I hope your fever is gone by now and you
are feeling alot better. I know how scary febrile
seizures (from spiking temp) can be. My daughter had 2 of
them when she was very young and I dreaded every fever she
got after that. She did indeed outgrow it by 4 years old
just like they said she would. Boy I couldn't wait until
she hit 4 and then I relaxed a little bit when she got
sick. I always had Tylenol ready (I found it worked
better for her than the Advil), just in case! It is scary
to go through but she was fine and unaffected by it.

always said that the best thing I ever did for Hannah was
to have Andrew. When he was first diagnosed, and they told
us there was no hope and that he would die, that was one of
my first thoughts. What kind of woman would she become
without the gentling influance of her baby brother. Well
he isn't so gentle any more but he is still the one that
she loves. As for asking "why me", it is so normal and I
am sure there isn't a parent that has gone through this
that hasn't. It is like me griping about all of our little
 problems-insurance, therapy, glasses, hearing aids,
medicines, money... it goes on and on, but there isn't a
day that goes by that I don't relize how lucky we are. I
just need to gripe and get it off my chest. Sophie is
doing so well and looks WONDERFUL!!! She will do great and
you will get to gripe just like me. Welcome to the club-it

Does "going home" mean you will be at your own house?
Here "home" can mean out-patient, which can last another 50
days or so and then you go "home, home" which means you get
to leave the city the hospital is in and go to your house.
Maybe you live close?? Either way, I am so thrilled and I

Message:  Padraic and Tina,
Even now, while we make arrangements for Max, we are thinking
of you and of your precious Sophie. Sometimes it's a little step that
turns despair into hope. Please treasure each and every moment
of progress - and sometimes things like NOT going on a vent, or
NOT having a fever, etc. are progress. In transplant, sometimes
standing still is the biggest step forward you can make. You guys
are doing great under all the stress. 80 days is a long time for
anyone, especially your sweet girl. She is a real champion, strong
and brave and full of life. No sickness, no transplant, no
complication from transplant, can take that away. Stay MIGHTY!

Message:  I had originally planned to visit as many caringbridge
sites as possible, and leave some encouraging words, prior
to my daughters passing. Unfortunately her passing came
sooner than we had expected, but longer than any of her
 doctors expected.

 Another angel takes flight.

My daughter Pam had a brain tumor and was fighting the
fight since November 4th, 2002, after the birth of her
daughter (Casey Morgan). My youngest daughter, Karen, set
up a caringbridge website for Pam. Karen's friends mother
shared a prayer with us, that I would like to share with
you and Sophie. It's called DON'T QUIT:
 Don't Quit -
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road
you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low
and the debts are high, and you want to smile, but you have
to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit - Rest if you
must, but do not quit. Life is queer with its twists and
turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a
fellow turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it
out. Don't give up though the pace seems slow - You may
succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than it
seems to a faint and faltering man; Often the struggler has
given up when he might have captured the victor's cup. And
he learned too late when the night came down, How close he
was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside
out - The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never
can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems
afar, So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, It's
when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.(Just call on
 Jesus).

I would also like to share a saying that was on the card my
wife Diane picked out, and we bought for Pam:

 If you were a star
 That wasn’t expected back
 In the universe
 For a thousand years,
 I’d wait.

 If you were the sky
 And everyone went inside
 When you got sad
 And started to rain,
 I’d stay.

And if you were a peach
And the world decided to get rid of all peaches,
 I’d pick you up,
 Put you in my pocket…

 AND KEEP YOU…. FOREVER..

Prayers have scientifically been proven to work.

REMEMBER NEVER GIVE UP THE FIGHT. You are in our prayers.
 GOD bless you all.

Message:  Dear Tina, and the rest of the family!
It is Torill in Bergen, mormor Solveig`s cousin, who is
writing these lines! I have got the address from aunt Ellen-
Karin, and have just seen pictures of Sophie on her Web
side! She looks wonderfull, and I think of all of you, have
read what is written about her illness, and feel sorry for
what Sophie, and all of you, have to go through! Thank you
for putting the whole thing into internet, so that I,
living so far away, can be able to follow what is going on
from time to time! I read that just from today, there will
be a change, in not being able to live like a family, in
the way you until now have done, because of Sophies
operation, but I know you are strong, and will be able to
manage, what will come, in the days, the weeks, and also
the mounths from now! With this, I will wish you all the
best, for you and little Sophie! I will often think of you,
and also ask you, to give my love to Solveig, in this
difficult time! Love and best wishes from Torill in Bergen.
